Who We Are
The Hampshire & Home Counties Property Networking Club is the idea and creation of Dr. Dennis Coote and Hazel Reed, both of whom live in Hampshire. The first event was organised for April 2008 at the Holiday Inn, Basingstoke. It was their ideal to create a meeting place for like-minded property investors and mentors for Hampshire and the South of England.
‘There were no property clubs for those who live around the M3 corridor. The property market was booming when the club started but since then the world has experienced events that have never happened before in history. The collapse of the banks and building societies was an event that no one could prophesy.
We set the Club up to create a meeting place for property entrepreneurs to take advantage of the vibrant market but instead the club has become important as a place of support, information, advice and for seeking new ways to overcome the property decline, or rather the decline in property finance. If anything the club is more important now because we are going through amazing and unpredecented changes!’
Dr. Dennis Coote is a property consultant and mentor, specialising in renovating and refurbishing properties. He has renovated over 400 houses for the buy to sell market and is now active in the Buy to Let market in the South of England.
He is also the author of the best selling ecourse on Property Renovation at http://www.renovationriches.com. His knowledge is expansive and wide-ranging, from full renovations of derelict properties, rebuilding, to small refurbishments to keep property up to date and repaired.
Dennis says: ‘Victorian houses are my passion. They were built so well and have such amazing proportions that you can literally do anything with them. Walking down a street of Victorian terraced houses, they all look the same, but inside every one of them is different. It is an accolade to those who build and designed these houses. Their memory is encapsulated within these amazing structures. They are also a pleasure to work on because of the fine workmanship.’
Hazel Reed BHSAI is actually involved with horses and has written the text books for the British Horse Society. However her own family, father, grandfather and great grandfather were all involved with property, helping to build most of Oldham in Lancashire during the Victorian and later period. She worked as an Estate Agent for some time and has now come back into property buying houses in Hampshire and Berkshire for the Buy to Let market.
Hazel says ‘I love property, it is not just about money, though obviously property is also a good investment for the future. What I like most is refurbishing and decorating a Victorian house that looks sad and neglected to start with and looks bright, welcoming and proud of itself when completed.’
